When I’m not working, I have quite a few interests. I am married to my wife, Virginia, since August 10, 2002. We have three children, Isaac (2005) , Evan (2009), and Clara (2011). Spending time with them and teaching them to love Jesus is very important to me.
I also enjoy watching sports. I am a die hard Chicago sports fan, because that is where I spent the first 23 years of my life before moving to NC in 2001. I do a lot of writing about the Chicago Cubs on View From the Bleachers, but love watching the Bears, Blackhawks and Bulls as well as University of Illinois basketball and Notre Dame football.
Outside of sports and family, I enjoy, writing, Geocaching, board games (Risk, Ticket to Ride, Settlers of Catan), and outside games like corn hole and bocce.

Trained near Tacoma, Washington and licensed as a massage therapist since September of 2008, Joe has had the privilege of learning from some of the best teachers in the industry. He has always made it a point to study under the best teachers in the bodywork field, even if that means traveling to find them.
“I grew a passion for learning physical rehabilitation through the art of massage. Coming from an analytical background in corporate logistics and being prior military, I carried over my intense level of attention to detail and analytics into working with the human body. I call it the power of observation which gives us all of the answers the body would like to give”.
In regards to NeuroMuscular Reprogramming (NMR), which is a technique that Joe has become fond of, he says that the technique allows him to localize problems and help bring somewhat instant relief to painful situations in clients. He notes that the influence of Jocelyn Olivier has helped him see the body as the sum of all its parts.
Today, Joe is presenting his body of work in the device he developed called “CORE”. CORE is a movement integration device that uses a form of dance called Contact Improvisation, which is a study of physics using dance.In June 2017, Joe will be published in “Midwifery Today” for a technique he developed relating to hand pain in women during pregnancy.

At NC Farm Bureau, Helping You is What We Do Best. Nathan’s specialty is helping individuals, businesses, and families protect their assets, paychecks, and maintain their standard of living as live events occur.
In today’s World, mistakes, accidents, untimely deaths, and other peoples’ decisions that are often out of our own control can quickly turn a bad day into a bad life. Everyone has a story that includes different situations and priorities. Understanding the risks to a client’s livelihood and family’s standard of living are paramount in creating a proper insurance program. Additionally, having an expert be transparent in explaining cost versus coverage’s/benefits will help maximize insurance dollars for benefits that most suit the client’s particular needs.
With experience as an investment adviser, financial planner, and business owner, Nathan has the knowledge base to help clients incorporate their insurance program into the ‘overall picture’ as well as highlight areas of potential risks and propose appropriate solutions.
Nathan is a NC native and graduated from Methodist University in Fayetteville, NC with degrees in business. An avid sports fan, traveler, and uncle, he has made Raleigh home. After spending he first part of his career as a professional golfer and then in the golf operations/real estate industry, Nathan branched into financial services, a natural fit for his analytical and business acumen. When asked about why the insurance industry was where he decided to focus, he provided this answer;
“My decision to focus on the insurance side of financial services honestly came from flying into several cities and seeing just how many rooftops there were, knowing each one of them had a different set of circumstances, and ALL needed protection for their homes, automobiles, incomes, life insurance to protect their families, and possibly their business if they owned one. It was an ‘ah-ha moment’. Many times I hear that only wealthy people need insurance. I would argue the person who can’t afford a major life change to affect their income or a bad accident to affect their paycheck needs it even more. I realized my background in business, financial planning, communication, and creating unique solutions would separate me from those who just want to ‘sell insurance’, so here I am.”
